Here’s what you need to know before you can start providing private hire services.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has introduced the Private Hire Car Driver Vocational Licensing (PDVL) framework in 2017 to level the playing field between private hire drivers and taxis drivers – a vocational license is required.
You are required to apply for either a Taxi Driver’s Vocational Licence (TDVL) or Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational Licence (PDVL). What is the difference?
With TDVL, you can drive both Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle (PHV), while PDVL only allows you to drive Private Hire Vehicle (PHV).
